Interactive Simulation Technology

The Nursing and Allied Health Departments have been fortunate to purchase two interactive simulators Sim Man and Sim Baby from the Laerdal Corporation. These simulators “breathe”, have heart, lung, and bowel sound capabilities and realistic vital signs. This technology allows the student to assess and treat a patient in a safe and supportive environment. Various scenarios are carried out allowing both student and instructor to experience different disease states. Debriefing after the scenario allows for exploration of positive and negative responses performed and discussion can lead both student and instructor to resolve how to improve patient care and assessment skills. Clinical instructors may schedule time with Sim Man or Sim Baby for their students as a possible enhancement to the clinical experience. The Simulation Lab wants to provide you the student with access to all the “state of the art” interactive equipment we have in the lab. In order to allow you the best use of your time, please call the lab to make an appointment for using any of the simulators listed below:
